How it is calculated

Saving per month = litres bought per month × how much cheaper each litre is. Saving per year = saving per month × 12.

No litres to hand? Enter miles and consumption instead: litres = miles × 1.609344 ÷ 100 × l/100 km, and l/100 km = 282.48 ÷ mpg (UK gallons).

Worked example

You buy 80 litres a month and find fuel 5p a litre cheaper. 80 litres × £0.05 = £4.00 a month, which is £48.00 a year.

Prices are per litre. The average price is the country average for the fuel you pick; change it to the price at your station.
